We just get back from a day hike and reconvene to comfortable armchairs set outdoors perhaps on a deck overlooking a vista of mountains and a distant lake or sea. The sun is behind a few clouds soon to display an amazing sunset. Conversation is easy since we have already established rapport over email and phone, and our first hike together. Various tapas magically appear on the table, sunlight refracts off two glasses of red wine. The sun lowers onto the horizon as philosophical conversation ensues and laughter fills the warm evening atmosphere. Let's not forget fire! The scene changes to even later in the evening - a fire pit, full moon and a blanket for two. And as it is our first date, all of our adult children just happen to call that night. Back to the fire.... A pair of eyes flash across the field in the brush. We stand quickly to watch a cougar cross the path we had just walked on earlier that day. Maybe we will even see a bear if we stay outside long enough? Shall I go on?
